Frequency Converters
INGEDRIVE™ is a family of low- and medium-voltage modular AC drives designed for demanding single-motor or multi-motor applications handling and controlling synchronous, induction, and permanent magnet motors.
These drives are suitable for four-quadrant operation, driving and braking in both rotational directions. INGEDRIVE™ is designed to be a highly-efficient drive which significantly reduces energy consumption. Its modular design enables it to cover a wide range of powers and voltages while its intuitive structure makes it easy to use and maintain.
Years of experience have made it possible to incorporate two-, three- and five-level advanced vector control into low- and medium-voltage rectifiers and inverters, always using latest generation semiconductors. The powerful CCU (Converter Control Unit) communicates with power stacks via optic fibre. The result is a compact, flexible, safe, and user-friendly solution.
INGEDRIVE™ is available with power ratings up to 36 MVA, from 400V to 690V in low voltage and 3.3 kV to 6.6 kV in medium voltage, offering great performance, robustness, reliability, and long life expectancy.

Ingeteam’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a compact battery storage solution controlled by an optimized energy management system that enhances vessel’s power plant capabilities.
Ingeteam’s BESS turns any standard electric propulsion vessel into a latest generation hybrid-electric propulsion vessel.
Ingeteam’s BESS offers a compact and optimal solution, suitable to be installed in a newly built vessel or to upgrade standard electric plant. Designed for an easy integration, it provides considerable fuel savings, improving safeness and enabling efficient operation while reducing environmental impact.
Working principle and design
Ingeteam’s BESS stores energy during low demand conditions, returning it back to the grid when the demand increases. The Energy Management System is responsible for reaching the minimum fuel consumption for the possible combination of energy sources, complying with the restrictions inherent in the system.
Functionalities and capabilities
Adaptable to each vessel’s characteristics, BESS allows the following modes of operation:
- Peak Shaving
- Fixed Load: optimal rate of load change mode for fuel consumption reduction obtaining optimal efficiency.
- Load Sharing: balance for enhanced power plant stability.
- Dynamic Boost: enabling instant power support to running engines and utilizations of alternative energies such as solar panels or fuel cells.
- 50/60 Hz shore connection: allowing cheap energy to be used and reducing running hours for generators, which can even be avoided during harbour operations.
- Spinning reserve: backup power to running generators on DP operation mode or during full electric operations.
Electric Generators
Our products are specially designed for application in the marine sector. By working in close collaboration with the manufacturers of diesel engines we are able to cater for the specific technical needs of each vessel, shipyard or ship-owner. Given the flexibility in their design, the INDAR (an INGETEAM brand) range of generators is manufactured in their standard format or custom-made according to each specific need. INDAR offers a wide range of power, speed, voltage and cooling systems.
The power ranges available in synchronous generators varies from 1,250 kVA to 35,000 kVA, with 690 Vac to 15 kVac voltage ranges.
Air or water-cooled, open or closed architecture, with brushes or brushless, with or without PMG. High performance and capacity to withstand the overloads and vibrations generated by drives.
The mechanical design, protection level and type of cooling are studied individually to ensure they are compliant with the specifications of the ship-owner/shipyard.
Equipped with AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) Generators are designed and manufactured according to the main international standards (IEC, NEMA, VDE) and classifications societies (BV, LR, DNV, GL, ABS, RINA, KR, RMRS, CCS, etc). The basic concept our INDAR SGI generators series (driven by Internal Combustion Engines where burning fuels are fossil fuel, biofuel, gas etc.) is its adaptability to the standards of each manufacturer.
Electric motors
Indar offers customized machines based on customer requirements. The IM series of induction motors and SM series of synchronous motors are clear example of our versatility and adaptability to the client’s specific requirements based on standard criteria.
This flexibility allows us to cover markets as varied and demanding such as silent propulsion for oceanographic vessels in compliance with ICES 209 standards. All the motors in the IM and SM series can be fed both directly from the electrical gird and from frequency converters.
